Sentinel 1B launched with IberEspacio Thermal Hardware
The Sentinel 1B satellite has been launched from Kourou becoming the fourth satellite in orbit of the Sentinel European Earth Observation satellite constellation, the world largest devoted to the study of our planet, under the Copernicus programme.
Sentinel 1B will help Sentinel 1A to monitor and map the earth’s ice, forest, water and soil every six days. This improved rate will also be very helpful for mapping crisis areas in order to support humanitarian aid.
IberEspacio has contributed to Sentinel 1B by providing with the thermal control hardware for the laser terminal, a system that increases the amount of information sent to earth.
