IberEspacio awarded with the Hispasat 25 anniversary Prize for the Best Telecommunications Satellite Innovation Project

The project “Spacecraft Modular Thermal Platform” by Alejandro Torres -IberEspacio General Director- and Donatas Mishkinis -IberEspacio Technical Director- were awarded with the Prize for the Best Telecommunications Satellite Innovation Project at a ceremony presided by Secretary General of Industry Begoña Cristeto.

 

This project researches the development of new thermal control architectures for satellites including two-phase heat transfer devices. It is based on improvements to one of these elements, previously tested on a HISPASAT satellite, which allowed for the development of this new architecture. This new solution will make it possible to develop more powerful, compact and efficient satellites.

IberEspacio awarded with the Space Systems Loral BriSat Communication Panels Delivery Honor

 

Space System Loral, the leading provider of geostationary commercial satellites, has recognized the work done by IberEspacio for the BRIsat satellite. The “BriSat Communications Panels Delivery Honor” event took place in Torrejón de Ardoz, near the facilities of IberEspacio, and was atended by Frank Pelkofer -SSL Executive Director of Spacecraft Systems Engineering-, Vivian Mackintosh -SSL Vice President of Supply Chain- and Jorge Lomba -Head of ESA projects at the Centre for Industrial Technological Development-.

 

BRIsat is a C-band and Ku-band satellite that will be positioned at 150.5 degrees East longitude with coverage of Indonesia and South East Asia. It will help BRI provide secure banking communications for its over 9,800 branches, over 100,000 electronic channel outlets, and over 50 million customers across the Indonesian archipelago.
