Dr. Alejandro Torres, General Manager of IberEspacio, has been one of the invited speakers at the 44th Space Congress that took place at Cape Canaveral, Florida, from May 24th-26th.
The Space Congress is a forum where prominent experts discuss space-related initiatives. This year’s theme was “The Journey: Further Exploration for Universal Opportunities” and showcased the evolution of space exploration while analyzing how institutions, companies, universities and entrepreneurs continue to meet the challenges of space.
The panels of speakers included Apollo Astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Kennedy Space Center Director Bon Cabana and ‘Mars Czar’ Professor Scott Hubbard, as well as representatives from NASA, the DLR and companies like Space X, Boeing, ULA, Blue Origin and OHB.
Dr. Alejandro Torres was member of the panel related to European industry, along with Dr. Alex Schneider from OHB, Dr. Oliver Romberg from the German Space Center (DLR), Dr. Frank Bensch from the German Space Agency (DLR), Pablo Rueda Boldo from the European Space Agency (ESA), Dr. Marco Berg from OHB and Fredrik Sjöberg from OHB Sweden.
Dr. Torres’ presentation, called “Advances in Thermal Control for Space Exploration”, covered the evolution of thermal control in space exploration and how industry can support science and even give it a push, to reach new frontiers and make discoveries.
